I would encourage you to look at the other message I just posted to the 
list, "Lies, Damn Lies, and Stable Interfaces".  While unfortunately 
unstable, the New Cred stuff is already hooked up to web authentication 
and will almost certainly be a more pleasant ride (bumps and all) than 
the current situation with web-based auth.
