I found many problems with wxreactor.  try threadedselectreactor instead (its
not released yet, find it in the twisted repository, threadedselectreactor.py
is all you need, it works with the latest 'official' twisted release)

I am using wxPython/threadedselectreactor and tada for database quite nicely,
adbapi should work too.
