FWIW, I really wouldn't be opposed to ReST as a _format_, as long as it fit into the rest of the toolchain.  If anyone else shares james' dislike of extremely limited HTML as an input format and user interface[1] to the documentation system, writing an input plugin for lore to recognize it would be a good first step.


[1]: I can see why you might.  While I personally don't mind typing angle brackets (it's a soothing distraction from all that thinking), Lore's input format was in part a bet that Mozilla Composer would be reasonable and ubiquitous for end-users in a year or two... three years ago.  Remember Mozilla?  Hee.
