I disagree.

While I don't feel particularly strongly about it one way or another, 
pretty much anything that isn't language-mandated ought to be 
standardized so that newcomers to the codebase at least get a common 
feel for certain kinds of naming.

Keep in mind that your personal coding standards need not adhere to the 
Twisted one - that standard is only for code actually checked in to the 
Twisted tree.  It may even be useful for products to diverge, so that 
someone reading code, schemas, or whatever can easily guess which 
components are from which codebase.
