[Twisted-Python] Have I installed twisted correctly?

Hi,

I have just been recommended twisted from the python mailing lists. I 
thought I'd installed it, but I get an error with the first line!

from twisted.internet import reactor

error:
TypeError: isinstance() arg 2 must be a class, type, or tuple of classes and 
types

Can an expert help me?
