Sounds like a good plan.

Speaking of using testing areas rather than the most heavily used production stuff:

One thing that perhaps bears mentioning here is that we do have a second domain name that I bought at some expense for the project - in part to celebrate its 20th anniversary at … PyCon 2020 (sob): twisted.org <http://twisted.org/>.  If this minor emergency is sparking anyone's interest in slowly building some new infrastructure (like a new website) on clean, modern infra, without the pressure to keep something working continuously, we could host it all there and cut over twistedmatrix.com <http://twistedmatrix.com/> to be a redirect at the appropriate time.
