As it turns out, it's as easy as doing something like:
d = getPage(sys.argv[1], method="DELETE")
d.addCallbacks(callback=lambda
value:(println(value),reactor.stop()),
errback=lambda error:(println("an error
occurred", error),
reactor.stop()))
